Taranaki Garden Festival: Secret Gardens & Beyond

The Taranaki Garden Festival is a festival like no other, offering the most stunning range of spectacular gardens. The warm and hospitable garden owners are what has made this event internationally famous. The festival gardens show the care and dedication that only those who love growing things can provide. Presenting almost 50 fabulous gardens from newly created concepts to well developed and mature landscapes, the festival encourages you to take the time to wander through many and meet the garden owners who are knowledgeable and helpful. 

Formerly the Taranaki Rhododendron & Garden Festival, New Zealand’s premier Spring Festival is now in its 36th year, and it is one of the longest running garden festivals in New Zealand.

Our tour programme features a range of gardens from large private country estates to small city gardens. This tour travels further south to include Cross Hills Gardens – New Zealand’s largest and most comprehensive collection of flowering rhododendrons and azaleas.

Our coach departs from Auckland, Sunday 29^th October and will travel via Hamilton to collect passengers.  There is 3 nights in New Plymouth for two full days of garden visits, one night in Palmerston North where we visit Cross Hills Rhododendron Garden and a night in Taupo. The tour returns to Auckland Friday 3^rd November at approximately 5.30pm.

Booking Terms & Conditions

• A non-refundable deposit of $150.00 per person is required to secure booking.
• Balance is due 45 days prior to tour departure.
• Fees may apply for cancellation, amendments and changes.
• Passengers should be reasonably fit, in good health and physical condition, and be able to walk moderate distances to fully participate in the sightseeing and activities included in the itinerary. 
• It is encouraged, but not a requirement to be vaccinated for Covid-19.
