Day One (Tuesday 12th ) Auckland to Niue
Dinner

Crossing the international dateline we arrive in Niue mid afternoon on Monday. Settle into your clifftop accommodation and unpack for the week before joining your fellow travellers for a sunset drink on the poolside deck.
Tonight receive a warm Niuean welcome with an evening of cultural entertainment and cuisine.
Scenic Matavai Resort 7 nights

Tuesday 12th Introductory Tour
Breakfast & Dinner

This morning we take an introductory tour with Explore Niue. Our knowledgeable Niuean guide will show us the better known spots of the western side of the island, as we learn a little of the history, culture and language.
This afternoon is at leisure to relax at the resort and get into holiday mode.
This evening is a Niuean BBQ at the resort.

Wednesday 13th Day of Relaxation
Breakfast & Dinner

Today is at leisure to relax. Transfers will be available to visit the local shops, swimming spots and local cafés.
Optional tours are available.

Thursday 14th Culinary Tour
Breakfast & Dinner

This morning we take a tour of the Vanilla Plantation and learn how it is planted, pollinated, picked and processed for export. We join the A5 Plantation and Uga tour experience, visiting a local plantation and hearing about the traditional farming methods, and old, and see how the staple crops are grown. We will venture into the interior of the island to where the Coconut crab (Uga) live and learn about their habitat. 
Tonight dinner will be at the resort.
Friday 15th Day of Relaxation
Breakfast & Dinner

Today is at leisure to relax. Transfers will be available to visit the local market, swimming spots and local cafés.
Optional tours are available.
Tonight we join an Island Night Feast & Cultural Show at Jenna’s. Experience authentic Niuean song and dance whilst enjoying the delicious traditional cuisine.

Saturday 16th Arts & Cultural Tour
Breakfast & Dinner

Today we head to Liku Village to visit Mark Cross in his studio and hear about his story behind the creation of Hikulagi Sculpture Park. We will visit the museum, art gallery and finish the tour with an interactive printing workshop. Block printing is a popular pastime and we will have the opportunity to print a piece of fabric to take home.
This evening we dine out at Kai Ika, a gourmet restaurant offering sushi and New York pizzas with a Niuean twist.

Sunday 17thThe Eastern Side
Breakfast & Dinner

Sunday’s are a day of rest and worship in Niue. You may wish to join a church service before we embark on our trip to explore the eastern side of the island, chasms, caves, rock formations and lush tropical rainforests.
Dinner this evening is at Washaway Café. Enjoy a burger or fish & chips and pour yourself a drink at the self serve bar.

Day Eight (Monday 18th) Niue to New Zealand
Breakfast & Lunch

After checking in at the airport we will enjoy a light lunch at Vaiolama Café and Bar before our homeward flight to New Zealand, arriving late Tuesday afternoon.

General Information

  • Accommodation is Superior Cliff Top Rooms
  • Niue to across the international dateline and is 23 hours behind NZ.
  • The climate is tropical with winter temperatures of 20-28oC.
  • A moderate level fitness is required to negotiate sea tracks and access the reef and swimming holes. Tracks are usually uneven, with steps and are often steep and slippery.
  • Currency is New Zealand dollars.
  • Optional tours are available and include whale watching, dolphin encounters and deep sea fishing.
