New Zealand Train Tours
Rail is still one of the most great and relaxing ways to travel. Comfortable seating, panoramic windows, observation car and open viewing platform make for a great journey through New Zealand's backyard. See spectacular untouched scenery not otherwise viewed by road and travel over viaducts, bridges and some amazing engineering feats.

New Zealand's passenger rail services have steadily been declining over the last few of years and we currently have three remaining services - The Overlander (Auckland-Wellington), - The Coastal Pacific (Picton-Christchurch), and - The Trans Alpine (Christchurch-Greymouth).

By chartering a train we are not limited to just the scheduled passenger rail services.  In the South Island we travel beyond Christchurch and take the train down to Dunedin, Invercargill and Bluff. The North Island takes in the East Coast through to the Hawkes Bay region and Napier, and the West up to New Plymouth. Two night stops are made at most places allowing you time to explore the area. And in regions where there is no rail we travel by chartered coach.
